KeelyPrint has now been trading successfully for 37 years in Beccles, Suffolk. In 1972 the founder Peter Keely with the assistance his wife Marlene, having been made redundant from his position of production planner at the local firm of Wm Clowes and Son, a book printer of world renown ( which in its hey day employed 1500 people ), set forth and ploughed all his redundancy pay into a old Heidelberg Letterpress machine and guillotine which were placed in their small garage. Having been a bookbinder by trade Peter Keely with the help of ex-colleagues had to learn quickly to compose cold type, print and guillotine the orders they received. The pair got off to a successful start and invoiced £26 at the end of the first week.

Due to the quality, accuracy and speed of delivery of their work Peter and Marlene soon won over new customers and expanded their operation. To accommodate the additional presses , paper and finishing equipment needed for the additional work , the husband and wife team built a new workshop by themselves next to their bungalow. The work of building of this new workshop was carried out by Peter and Marlene in the evenings and at weekends in order that the flow of print work from the presses was not interrupted.

Soon the new workshop could no longer accommodate their success and ever increasing team of workers and so a Graphic Design and Reproduction department was set up in their sun lounge.

Before long due to further expansion the business was relocated to Ravensmere in the centre of Beccles, a pleasant conservation area. The quality of their work and fine reputation soon reached the city of Norwich and contracts were won with H.M.S.O. ( Her Majesty's Stationery Office ) to supply the Armed Forces in the UK and Overseas, English Nature , Department of Immigration , The Passport Office , The Law Courts and many more.

On the back of the H.M.S.O. success the insurance firm of Norwich Union was added as a major customer which further accelerated the growth as it , Norwich Union,merged several times before becoming the mighty AVIVA Plc, third largest insurance company in the world.

This again resulted in a further move for KeelyPrint within Beccles. The next location for the business was the icing on the cake as they were able to agree the purchase of a modern building at The Quay, next to the tranquil River Waveney. Today this is still the location of the business as KeelyPrint enters the on-line design and print on demand world of the Internet. An obvious move since designing and producing its first single colour business card in the first week of opening back in 1972.

Today www.KeelyPrint.com handles full colour business cards produced on its web design pages from hundreds of professional design templates. Cards can be single sided, double sided with various finishes from gloss to matt lamination, single or double sided. Delivery times vary from 24 hours .
